A 37-year-old yoga instructor has miraculously survived a 200-ft plunge that killed her sister.
Alexandria Duval of Haiku is now accused of killing her twin after witnesses allege she drove off the cliff purposely.
Duval’s twin, identified as Anastasia Duval, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to KHON, authorities say the sisters were also known as Allison (Alexandria) and Ann (Anastasia) Dadow.
Appearing in a courtroom on Monday, Alexandria Duval had her arm in a sling but surprisingly was able to walk despite also plummeting the 200ft mere days ago.
Witnesses say that the two sisters were fighting, “screaming and arguing with each other,” and that Anastasia “was pulling at the driver’s hair and the steering wheel.”
Experts reports say investigators found that there were no attempts made by Alexandria to brake.
The court heard that the vehicle’s airbag control module “showed that prior to and at the time of the vehicle’s collision into the wall, there was hard acceleration and a hard left steering input…”
The sisters ran a yoga studio in Florida together. Attorney Todd Eddins said that the incident was a tragedy for the family and that Alexandria is mourning the loss of her sister.
Reports state the sisters have previous trouble with the law. Records show that the sisters were arrested for disorderly conduct on December 24th.
