Tributes paid for Carlow woman who died in tragic accident after travelling home for wedding

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Tributes are pouring in for a woman who passed away from an accident on a bus, after returning home to Ireland to attend a friend's wedding. Amanda Kinsella fell from a bus in Donegal on Friday afternoon, and she was subsequently hit by a passing car. The 27 year-old was among a number of people travelling to the after-party of a wedding. She was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin and passed away on Friday evening. Gardaí continue to investigate the collision, and have asked any witnesses to come forward with information, as well as anyone who might have dash-cam footage. Carlow, but had been living in Bahrain in the Middle East. She had returned to Ireland for a holiday and to attend the wedding. She played football for Irish clubs in Bahrain, and was well known among GAA circles in Ireland. Her local club, the Carlow Bennekerry/Tinryland Ladies Football Club paid tribute to her on Facebook. They wrote: "Our Bennekerry Tinryland family and community are deeply saddened and devastated to hear the news of the utterly tragic passing of club mate Amanda Kinsella. "Our hearts are broken. We can’t begin to describe how beautiful, talented and truly amazing she was. We offer our deepest sympathies to her parents Mono and Patricia and siblings Aisling and David. A super star 100 times over, we will never ever forget her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam." Additionally, the football club she played for in Bahrain also paid tribute to Amanda. A statement from the Arabian Celts said: "Amanda was just a fantastic person, on and off the pitch. Kind, funny and full of fun and adventure.
