Viking Splash Tours set to face liquidation later this month

A sad day for Dubliners and fans of the popular tour.

Growing up in Dublin City Centre, I still remember being wowed when I saw the first Viking Splash tour go past. The tours have been incredibly popular with both Dublin locals and visitors to the city alike with its very unique take on travelling around historic sites. Unfortunately, like many tourist attractions across the globe, the Viking Splash has been struggling this year and is set to go into liquidation later this month. The Covid pandemic has hit the tour company (and many like it) very hard this year, meaning that 2020 could have been the last time we'll see the Splash roar through Dublin. According to The Irish Times, the company has not operated at all since the first lockdown in March of this year. The company will hold a creditors' meetings on November 26. There is some suggestion though that there may be a potential buyer for the popular tour company, so fingers crossed we haven't seen the last of the Viking Splash.
