Two schools in Scotland have been forced to close due to COVID-19 outbreaks

Very concerning.

Schools across Scotland opened this week for the first time since lockdown began but already two have had to close. Bannerman High School in Glasgow and Peterhead Central School in Aberdeen have both been forced to close due to COVID-19 outbreakson the premises. Several students at Bannerman were found to be positive for COVID-19 while at least one staff member at Peterhead has tested positive. Peterhead is the latest school to close in Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council have stated that the test and protect system is now underway to ensure the appropriate measures are followed. A council spokesperson said:

"A number of staff from Peterhead Central Primary School are currently self-isolating following the identification of a confirmed case of coronavirus within the school team. Test and Protect procedures have been followed, and the school will be closed tomorrow. Parents are being advised."

With Irish schools set to open in a couple of weeks it's very concerning to see schools in Scotland closing their doors once again only days after reopening. We will keep you updated with any further developments.
