Irish influencer Terrie McEvoy has shared an emotional update, thanking the staff at Temple Street after her son fell ill.
Terrie and her husband, Davide Fitzpatrick, share a four-year-old daughter, Sydney, and a four-month-old son, Myles.
The mum of two took to her Instagram to reveal that her family had experienced a “worrying few days” with her young son.
Alongside a sweet video of her family, she wrote: “The hardest few days and so grateful to be out the other side.
“I wanted to share this little snippet that David took because sometimes it’s easy to compare yourself to people online and feel like they’re sailing through motherhood, completely unfazed. The truth is, the past few months have been the hardest I’ve ever found motherhood, especially the past few weeks between sleep deprivation and never-ending sicknesses.”
“I know the constant feeling of guilt already hangs heavy over us mums, but this day it felt on another level. I had been awake for two days straight and went home to shower, eat, get some sleep, and see Sydney…. I missed her terribly.
“But then the whole time I was home, I felt horrendous and just wanted to get back to see Myles. When I returned to the hospital with food and coffee and saw Myles feeling better and smiling back at me, I just broke down," Terrie admitted.
“There is nothing more painful than seeing your baby sick, and the relief I felt was immense. Nothing else in this world matters other than your babies being safe and well.”
"I know there are plenty of mums out there who will relate to the constant pang of guilt… the feeling that you’re not enough…especially working mums and business owners who have to keep the show on the road, both professionally and personally. This is your reminder that you are enough, we’re all in this together, we are all doing our best, and we all need to be a little kinder to ourselves,” she added gratefully.
“Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the incredible staff in Temple St children’s Hospital. Bring on all of the good times ahead"
It was earlier last week that Terrie opened up about how she and her family had experienced the most “worrying few days,” but we're thankfully doing a lot better.
The Irish content creator took to her Instagram stories to post a black-and-white picture, taken in Temple Street hospital.
Alongside the snap, Terrie revealed that they needed to attend the children's hospital in order to help their four-month-old son.
She wrote: “Finally out the other side of the most worrying few days. Myself and David and I are beyond grateful for the incredible staff in Temple Street Emergency Department and St Patrick’s ward.”
Terrie continued: “There is nothing in this world more painful than seeing your baby sick, and the care he received from every single person was nothing other than excellent."
Terrie concluded by praising the hospital's staff for their help: “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you @childrenshealthirl."
The couple welcomed their son Myles into the world in September of last year.
