Team Investigating Whether Washed-Up Debris Belongs to Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370

A team has been sent to the island of Reunion, located in the French Indian Ocean, to investigate whether a washed-up piece of debris belongs to Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. Aviation experts have said that the debris, a two-metre-long piece of wreckage which was found on Wednesday, is “likely” to belong to a Boeing 777. Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak said: “Initial reports suggest that the debris is very likely to be from a Boeing 777 but we need to verify whether it is from MH370. “We have had many false alarms before but, for the sake of the families who have lost loved ones, and suffered such heartbreaking uncertainty, I pray that we will find out the truth so that they may have closure and peace.” In March 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing disappeared off the radar.
