A storm is brewing.
Met Éireann has issued weather warnings impacting 24 counties as Storm Agnes is set to land in Ireland later in the week.
In a statement on Monday morning (24 September), Weather Alerts Ireland said that weather models are “mainly showing” that Ireland will see “some strong winds” from the storm.
“Winds do not seem as strong as they were earlier in the forecast window but still strong winds especially in the south of the country,” it said.
“Still little differences on how close the system will get to Ireland and this will determine how far strong winds will venture inland.
“The high resolution models will hopefully bring more clarity this evening.”
“These are updates based on the current models. It is difficult to predict wind paths for this system as it is developing so fast with the jet stream.”
