Raygun, the Olympic breakdancer who went viral, has slammed the decision to axe the event from the Los Angeles Games in 2028.
The Paris Olympics was the first time breaking was included in the Olympic programme, but it has been confirmed the appearance was fleeting.
Raygun whose real name is Rachael Gunn performed for Australia but her routine scored zero points.
Gunn stood by her performance and the decision by the IOC to include the discipline in the Olympics.
Before breaking even got a chance to silence critics, it was confirmed that the sport had been axed from the LA Games.
Gunn said: “It was disappointing it was decided that it wouldn’t be in LA, particularly before we even had a chance to show it.”
She slammed the decision saying it was ‘premature’ and asked: “I wonder if they’re kicking themselves now?”
The 36-year-old’s performance was criticised online for moves such as the kangaroo hop. As she writhed around on the floor, users took to social media to compare her routine with children’s dances.
She continued: “What is an Olympic sport? What are the similarities between dressage and artistic swimming and the 100m sprint and the pentathlon?
“Breaking is clearly athletic, it clearly requires a whole level of dedication across a number of different aspects. It’s really bringing a new level of excitement.”
Gunn defended her performance saying: "All my moves are original. Creativity is really important to me. I go out there and I show my artistry."
"Sometimes it speaks to the judges, and sometimes it doesn’t. I do my thing, and it represents art. That is what it is about."
A judge at the competition has since spoken out about the decision to award her zero points saying her competitors performed better on the day.
