Shocking Video of Korean Woman Apparently Being Assaulted on Camera by Western Men Goes Viral

An upsetting new video has emerged from South Korea recently showing a young woman being apparently verbally and physically assaulted by western men.

The video, which resurfaced on Facebook, was 78 seconds long and seemed to be filmed in a night club. It’s very difficult to distinguish where the men are from but it’s clear that the woman is very upset.

Here’s how Max Fisher of The Washington Post describes the disturbing scene:

Then, as if bored with merely harassing her, they grow more sadistic. The first man sticks his finger up her nose. She pulls back to resist but he leans in and shouts, “I see a booger.” His friend eggs him on — “Dude, make her eat it,” he says — and the two burst into laughter when he shoves his finger, now smeared with snot, into the back of her throat.

They tell her she’s disgusting. When one of them discovers some discoloration on her teeth, pulling her lips back to show to the camera, he starts shoving her, punishing her for displeasing him. He shouts at her to get plastic surgery, “like every other little Korean [girl].” At first, when she tries to resist, he won’t let her go. But, after several thrashes, she’s able to pull herself away, clearly rattled, and walk off. They shout angrily after her, hurling insults, and the video ends.

The video first came to light last June, when it was posted to YouTube and embedded on Jagei.com.

It was quickly removed from YouTube but was reposted on Facebook in early July. According to The Washington Post, the video generated more than 800 comments, mostly in Korean, and was shared at least 251 times before being taken down.

The full video has since been removed from Facebook but a snippet from it can be viewed above.

According to the The Korea Herald, they were in fact contacted by the people in the video. It is suggested that this video may in fact have been staged and trying to highlight the "horrors" of society but the actors and director haven't revealed themselves to the public as of yet.
