It will guarantee extra security

Ryanair say the change will make it faster and simpler for customers to book flights, as well as increasing their online security.

Ryanair has announced that from next Tuesday, November 1, all customers on the Irish Ryanair.com website and Ryanair Irish mobile app will be required to auto sign up to a ‘My Ryanair’ account prior to completing their flight booking.

The airline say that the vast majority of their Irish customers already have ‘My Ryanair’ accounts and that the new system will not only make it faster and simpler for customers to book Ryanair flights and other services, it will also increase their online security.

The new system, Ryanair say, will make it more difficult for ‘screenscraper’ websites to mis-sell Ryanair’s fares at inflated prices.

From November 1, Irish customers will have an account automatically generated at the payment stage on the website and app, where they will be asked to enter an email address and password in order to join ‘My Ryanair’ and complete their booking.

‘My Ryanair’ members can create their own personal profile, securely store payment and passport details and set their travel preferences, ensuring a personalised Ryanair experience while also receiving special offers and early access to flash sales.

The auto sign-in feature for Irish customers will be rolled out across all markets in November and December; it is already compulsory to have an account to book a flight with other airlines such as EasyJet and Virgin.
