RTÉ Six One’s Caitriona Perry has given birth to a baby girl

RTÉ Six One's Caitriona Perry has given birth to a baby girl. The presenter announced the news on Instagram this evening, thanking everybody for their words of congratulations. "A new chapter begins!" she wrote. "Thanks to all for the well wishes on the birth of my beautiful baby girl and thanks to the midwives, doctors and nurses for the excellent care. The former Washington correspondent first announced that she was pregnant earlier this year, when she told her social media followers that she was expecting some "news" of her own. Perry and Keelin Shanley took up their roles as presenters of RTÉ'S Six One over a year ago.

Previously, Perry was RTÉ's Washington correspondent and Shanley presented News at One on RTÉ Radio 1 as well as Crimecall. Announcing the new roles back in November 2017, Director of RTÉ News & Current Affairs Jon Williams said:
