Pro-Athlete Unleashes Incredibly Sexist Rant Against Female Boxers

Katie Taylor is rumoured to be fighting on the undercard of Lee v Saunders at Thomond Park in September.

Billy Joe Saunders has come under fire this evening after unleashing an incredibly sexist rant against female boxers.

The pro boxer takes on Andy Lee at Thomond Park this September, but shocked fans when asked about his opinion on female boxers by IFL TV:

“I think women are there for sex every night, hard sex. Women are there for cleaning, cooking, washing and sex. They’re not there to put headgear on and get punched in the face.”

The question came with rumours that talks are ongoing with reigning Olympic champion Katie Taylor to fight on the undercard of Lee v Saunders when the pair meet at Thomond Park in September.

Katie Taylor does Ireland proud ... yet again.

It seems Saunders does apparently respect our Olympic champion, praising the Bray native for her talents in the ring:

“Although I must say that Katie Taylor’s done extremely well and she once punched Frankie Gavin up in sparring. I remember him saying that.

“Listen, all jokes aside. That’s just my opinion on women. I’m just a sex maniac. I don’t really like to see women getting punched in the nose and face, it’s not very nice is it.

“I’m not taking anything away from them (female boxers). I’m giving them full respect because they’ve done things that I haven’t done. They’ve won Olympic golds so I give them full credit.”

It has yet to be confirmed if Taylor will fight on the undercard on the night.
