Nóra Quoirin has now been missing for seven days.
15-year-old Irish-French girl Nóra Quoirin has been missing in Malaysia for the past week. 260 people are involved in the search for Nóra, who has special needs and struggles to walk on her own.
This morning, Nóra Quoirin’s mother Meabh made an emotional statement to the Malaysia forces looking to find her daughter.
Accompanied by her husband Sebastien, she said: “We want to say thank you to each and every one of you. We know you’re searching night and day for Nóra. We see you working so hard, and also praying with us, being with us. We know you have given up your time, especially at a special festival time, to be with us, here.
“It means the world to us, and we are so grateful for everything that you are doing for us… We are extremely impressed with the effort, your expertise, your dedication, and we hope you find Nóra, and thank you so much.”
Quoirin went missing shortly after arriving in the Dusun Rainforest Resort near Kuala Lumpur.
An Garda Síochána confirmed on Friday evening that it had deployed a Garda Liaison Officer (GLO) to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to assist the Department of Foreign Affairs, who are currently providing consular assistance to the family of Nora Quoirin.
The GLO will be working in conjunction with the Malaysian Police, as well as UK and French authorities.
