Nóra Quoirin’s funeral to take place in Belfast next week

She was missing for 10 days.

The funeral of teenager Nóra Quoirin will take place in Belfast next week, according to reports. The 15-year-old disappeared from the resort she had been staying in with her family about an hour south of Kuala Lumpur last month. Nóra, who had learning difficulties, was found 10 days later near a stream approximately 2km from where she was last seen. A postmortem stated she died from prolonged hunger and stress. Belfast Live reports that the teenager's funeral will take place on Tuesday, September 10 in St Brigid's Church, south Belfast. Following Nóra's passing, her family said that they were "heartbroken" by the loss. "Nóra is at the heart of our family," said parents Meabh and Sebastian in a statement. "She is the truest, most precious girl and we love her infinitely. The cruelty of her being taken away is unbearable. Our hearts are broken. "We will always love our Nóra." Her family also thanked the hundreds of people who assisted in the search operation to find Nóra, and the thousands around the world who loaned their support during the extensive 10 day search. "We thank the local people here and those far and wide for their prayers and support at this time," they said. "Nóra has brought people together, especially from France, Ireland, Britain and Malaysia, united in their love and support for her and her family. "She has truly touched the whole world. To all our friends and family at home, we can’t thank you enough for all your love."
