New York City Building Collapses After “Explosion”

New York City emergency crews are currently responding to reports of a building collapse after a suspected explosion in the Harlem area of the city. The “explosion” apparently occurred at 9am this morning local time.

According to BBC News, it is unknown if anyone has been injured in the collapse however the Wall Street Journal are reporting up to fifteen minor injuries.

Residents in the area claimed they heared a large boom or blast early this morning with some passers-by commenting that they witnessed falling debris.

Commuter trains have been stopped on nearby tracks, according to Reuters, and passengers were ordered to get off the trains.

Other sources are claiming that 39 fire units have been sent to deal with the building collapse.

Fox News are currently reporting that the fire seems to be contained to one building only.
