Storm Georgina is set to arrive in Ireland tonight.
Met Éireann has put a nationwide warning in place this evening as strong winds are expected across Ireland in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

The status orange warning, issued by the national forecaster today, reads:
“A depression now named Storm Georgina will track to the northwest of the country tonight. Southwest winds will reach mean speeds between 65 and 80 km/h, gusting up to 120 km/h for a time tonight”.
It is expected that south-west winds will be particularly strong and there will be gale force winds along coasts. Storm Georgina is expected to have the most impact between the hours of 12 am and 5 am tonight.

This warning sits alongside two further status yellow warnings issued earlier today.
