A new scheme will allow you to pre-book your hotel sunbed before you travel

No more 8am pool dash.

Holidaymakers will be happy to hear that travel agency Thomas Cook, will be rolling out a new scheme whereby those wishing to travel to a variety of sunny locations this summer will actually be able to pre-book their hotel sun-lounger before every even leaving their home. “Choose Your Favourite Sunbed” is the new trail starting next month whereby, three hotels will allow holidaymakers to pre-pay €25 to guarantee use of the same sun-lounger throughout their holiday. If the trial at three properties proves successful, it will be available in 30 Thomas Cook branded hotels from the start of the summer season this year. Customers who opt for this add-on when booking their package holiday will be sent a link a week prior to travel with a map showing them the available sunbeds and their location in regards to the hotel pool and bar, or highlighting the specific shaded areas if travelling with a family. The firm’s UK managing director, Chris Mottershead spoke with The Independent saying: “It’ll be yours for the duration of your holiday, meaning it’ll still be there when you come back from your lunch. So relax and enjoy!” He also added that a maximum of 20 percent will be pre-allocated meaning holidaymakers who don't opt for the package will still have a variety of beds to choose from when on holiday.
