She was rushed to hospital after the Limerick hit-and-run
The new mum killed in a Limerick hit-and-run has been named locally as Marguerita Sheridan.
She tragically died in hospital after a van hit her in Rathkeale, Co. Limerick on December 21st.
The victim gave birth to a baby boy just three weeks before her untimely passing.
Gardaí in Rathkeale have launched an investigation following the fatal hit-and-run.
They have arrested a man in his 40s in connection with the incident.
They stated: “A man in his 40s continues to be detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in Co. Limerick.
“A post-mortem was conducted by State Pathologist, Dr.Sally Ann Collis. The results of which are not being released for operational reasons.”
Gardaí are urging witnesses to come forward following the harrowing incident.
Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the Rathkeale area in Co. Limerick between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
