Michelle Obama has proven herself as an inspirational and powerful First Lady of the United States over the past 8 years.
She has achieved several impressive goals, including tackling childhood obesity and increasing veteran employment.
Today she sadly gave her final speech as the first lady.
She spoke at the Reach Higher & Counselor of the Year Event which honours councillors who has displayed leadership skills. It is part of her “Reach Higher” program to promote education.
President-elect Donald Trump will assume office in two weeks so the current POTUS and his wife are finishing up some of their most passionate projects as president and first lady.
Michelle spoke about young people, diversity and the campaigns she’s worked on.
In the emotional speech, she told young people to ‘know that this country belongs to you’ and that they matter.
