Rain, rain, rain.
Following on from a number of weather warnings issued over the past few days, Met Éireann has issued a further rainfall warning.
The Status Yellow rainfall warning will affect Munster and Leinster and will be active from 7pm on Thursday (8 August) until 7am on Friday morning.
Met Éireann has said that heavy rain will spread south on Thursday evening and into the night. There’s a chance of accumulations of between 25mm and 40mm of rain during this period.
Spot flooding is likely to occur in these areas.
On Friday morning, heavy rain will clear from the north but scattered showers will become heavy or prolonged with the risk of thundery downpours in other areas.
It’s going to be one of those muggy days as top temperatures of 20 to 22 degrees are expected.
Turning towards the weekend, to be a bit of a mixed bag as Saturday will bring a combination of showers and sunny spells, but showers will be frequent in the north west and north but they should be isolated in the south.
Sunday will be sunnier with only scattered showers, although some of these may be heavy.
