McDonald’s has released a statement about the death of young boy in Dublin

The child suffered a suspected heart attack last Friday.

Maleek Lawal was just nine years old.

He reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest while in the company of his mother on Friday evening. It was reported at the time that the tragic event occurred at a McDonald’s restaurant in the Ilac Centre in Dublin.

He was later taken by ambulance to Temple Street Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

McDonald’s Restaurants of Ireland issued a statement extending their deepest sympathies to Lawal’s family, reported by JOE.ie.

“McDonald’s Restaurants of Ireland is aware of a number of news reports in relation to the death of a child in Dublin city centre on Friday, October 7 2016,”

“Management and staff wish to extend their deepest sympathies to the family involved.

“As a point of clarification, the company wishes to advise that this tragic incident did not occur in a McDonald’s restaurant.”
