Fashion is always one step ahead. While we’re just resigning ourselves to the idea of switching our summer wardrobes for tights, coats and boots, those in the upper echelons of the fashion world are flocking to the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week and planning what we’ll all be wearing next Spring/Summer.
As well as the clothes walking the runway, we’re paying close attention to the models’ makeup, as the looks which debut on the catwalk are the ones we’ll be trying to perfect at home in the coming months.
Our friends at Maybelline are in New York this week for the biggest event on the yearly fashion calendar, and they’re keeping us up to speed with all things FROW!
So, we’ve got the first heads up on the hottest trends in makeup for the season to come, keeping you one step ahead of the game!
Eye Have It – The guide to gorgeous eye make up
All about the Brows
Call in the Cara effect if you like, but brows are big, big business. A strong brow frames the face and a minimal makeup look with prominent brows will continue to be a beauty mainstay for SS 2013.

Catwalk to sidewalk: Brows ruled the runway at Calvin Klein
To get this look at home, we recommend BROWDrama, RRP €7.60. This sculpting mascara for brows is the ultimate fashion finish for brows. The no streak, no clump formula is a total winner, and once you've used this once you'll wonder how you managed without it for so long.

Browned off
Brown eyeshadow is a beauty buy that should be in every woman's toolkit. Choose a palette so can blend two or more shades for the perfect fit, staying light for day or building uo for a dramatic night time look. Use a subtle but warm shade with a hint of sparkle under the lower lashes to really make your eyes pop.

Catwalk to Sidewalk: Brown liner and shadow was the order of the day at J Mendel
To get the look, pick up the Diamond Glow quad in Coral Drama, RRP XXX. This super piece of kit includes four shades for you to experiement with in your quest for the perfect brow, along with a dual-ended applicator foam brush which applies colour evenly on lids, leaving you with the perfect coverage. These creamy, soft shadows are loaded with gem-like sparkles, to create texture and luminosity.
Line It Up
Use a grey liner on along the lower lashes as well as the upper lashes to create a dramatic look that will be sure to turn heads. Smudge and blend for a look that screams rock chick when worn under a long sweeping fringe.

Catwalk to Sidewalk: Rocking the lower lash liner at Karen Walker
Nail this look at home with Master Drama Kohl Liner in Coal Commander, RRP €6.79. This cream pencil has been created with the highest concentration of pigments for more intense eye drama.

Lash it On
One makeup look that will never go out of style; lashings if black mascara. Choose a product that will give you a volume boost and keep the rest of your look simple and natural.
