At least 14 people are thought to be dead and 14 injured in a mass shooting at a social services facility for disabled people in California earlier this evening.
Police have confirmed “one to three possible suspects” in the San Bernardino shootings, which are believed to have taken place at around 11am local time today.
In a press conference to local media, the San Bernardino police chief Jarrod Burguan said that “upwards of 14 people are dead” and 14 more were wounded.
Burguan added that officials are still unsure as to a motive for the attack.
The suspects are reportedly still at large and were seen fleeing the scene in an SUV.
Condemning the attack, US president Barack Obama said:
“We have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere in the world.”
The news comes just days after a separate mass shooting in Colorada.
Last Friday, three were killed and nine injured in an armed attack on a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
