Mark Salling’s cause of death still unclear after post-mortem

Anna O'Rourke

A post-mortem carried out on the remains of Mark Salling has failed to conclude what his cause of death was.

The actor, who was 35, was found dead on Tuesday, with many outlets reporting that he had died by suicide.

A report by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner seen by the Mail Online, however, has left his cause of death as unlisted, meaning it is not clear how he died.

The investigation is ongoing.

Salling’s body was found by police in the Sunland area of Los Angeles on Tuesday morning.

He had been reported missing by a concerned family member in the early hours of the morning.

The news of his death was confirmed by his attorney Michael Procter, who said his client was trying to “atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment.”

“He is survived by his mother and father, and his brother.

“The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected.”

He pled guilty to the possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor in October 2017 and struck a plea deal in December.

He was due to be sentenced in March.

The actor rose to fame in hit TV show Glee, playing high school jock Puck between 2009 and 2015.
