Gardaí are investigating the attack
A man in his 30s has been rushed to hospital following an attack in Dublin city. Gardaí confirmed the victim was assaulted on St Stephens Green West in the early hours of Monday, August 5th, 2024.
The man was attacked at around 1 am near the junction of St Stephen’s Green and Harcourt Street in Dublin.
The male was taken to St. James’s Hospital where he is currently being treated for serious injuries.
A man, also aged in his 30s, has been arrested as part of the investigation.
Gardaí confirmed he was arrested in connection with the attack and has since been charged.
Gardaí stated: “A man, aged in his 30s, was taken to St James’s Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. As part of this investigation, Gardaí have arrested a man aged in his 30s. He has been charged and appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning, Tuesday 6th August 2024.”
They are urging anyone who may have witnessed the attack to come forward.
Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area between 12.45 am and 1. 30 am.
They’ve also asked those with camera footage, including dash-cam, to come forward.
“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
“Any road users or pedestrians who were in the St Stephen’s Green West area between 12:45 am and 1:30 am and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available.”
