Man Dressed As Woody From Toy Story Arrested For Sex Crimes In New York’s Times Square

A man dressed as Woody from Toy Story has been arrested in Times Square on multiple sex charges. According to the Hufftington Post, the man in question was arrested by two plainclothes NYPD detectives. Jose Vasquez was arrested after allegedly assaulting “numerous girls,” according to the New York Post.

Vasquez is the latest costume character to be arrested. Previously a man dressed as Elmo was arrested for shouting racist comments. Apparently, a man dressed as the Cookie Monster pushed a toddler in NYC after his mother refused to pay him a tip for taking a photo. Vasquez was charged with forcible touching and third-degree sexual abuse. He was ordered held on $1,500 bail after a court appearance Friday. These “disturbing incidents . . . reinforce our belief that these costume characters must be licensed and regulated,” said Tim Tompkins, president of the Times Square Alliance, told New York Daily News.
