It’s understood that the man’s car entered the water after hitting a metal fence.
A man in his 20s has been killed in a car crash in Co. Longford.
According to RTÉ, the collision took place yesterday morning in the Clonfin region.
It is understood that man’s car left the road between Granard and Balinalee and hit a metal fence before entering the water. The car was retrieved from the water by emergency services at around 10:40am.
The Garda Water Unit recovered the man’s body, which has been taken to the Regional Hospital Mullingar.
Local diversions have been put in place to allow for a forensic examination.
