We need more kindness like this in the world.
One man, who was previously homeless, and begged on the streets of Cork has turned his life around.
According to The Irish Examiner, Christopher Jones was constantly in trouble with the local Gardaí for begging in public, with the proceeds funding his heroin addiction,
The 24-year-old went as far as robbing the coin box at Farranree church, for which he faced sentencing yesterday.
Since the incident, the man has begun a methadone treatment and is due to be paid from his first job on December 21st.
Christopher told the court that one day, a stranger passed him and rather than giving money, gave him another chance at life.
“This man comes up and says: ‘I will give you better than money, I will give you a job.’
“It was just a fella on the street, you wouldn’t believe how generous people are on the street. He has his own business and gave me a job.”
Now working a car valet business, Christopher told of his love of cars and how he’s moved back in with family
“I love it. I love cars…It is going good at the moment.”
Jones was fined €100 for the criminal damage inflicted on Farranree church.
