George Kay has passed away.
He is understood to have died from a drug overdose.
The former boxer and rugby league player, 39, was best known for his marriage to Kerry Katona.
George was father to Kerry’s youngest daughter Dylan-Jorge.
A source close to Kerry confirmed the news to The Mirror.
“Kerry was told this afternoon that George suffered an overdose and was taken to hospital, but was declared dead on arrival,” the insider said.
“She can’t bear the thought of explaining to her daughter what has happened.”
“Kerry loved George once and, while she’s not had contact with him for a long time, it is a huge shock.
“Her younger kids, Max and Heidi, who she had with Mark Croft, loved George too and called him ‘Dad’. She has no idea what to tell them.”
Kerry and George first met as teenagers and reconnected later in life when George started working for her.
They married in 2014 but ended their relationship 11 months later.
They later got back together but ended things for good in 2017.
Kerry has spoken out about their marriage since then, claiming her older children Molly and Lilly-Sue “begged” her to leave George.
“I feel like the worst mother in the world and I will never forgive myself,” she previously told Sunday People.
“No child should have to hear what they heard or see what they saw.”
