Kerry Katona admits her children begged her to leave George Kay

The mum-of-five confirmed her split from George Kay last month.

Kerry Katona has revealed that her eldest children 'begged her to leave' her third husband after they said she was living in fear. In her most recent interview, the 36-year-old revealed she was afraid of the former boxer and her daughters Molly and Lily knew it.

“I feel like the worst mother in the world and I will never forgive myself,” she told Sunday People. “No child should have to hear what they heard or see what they saw.

“I sat my Molly and Lily down because they’re older and all I could do was profusely apologise to them. I said to the girls, ‘I’m so sorry I’ve let this go on for so long.’ “They said, ‘Why are you standing for this? Just leave him.’”

Kerry said her daughters’ concerns reminded her of when she asked her own mother to leave an abusive partner, and now says she fears that it could be a similar situation for her daughters.

“I should have seen the warning signs and walked away. "I don’t want my daughters to think it’s acceptable to be in a relationship like that or for my son to think it’s acceptable to treat women that way either.”

Kerry was married to George for three years before they split last month.
