Just last week it was announced that the number of Metropolitan Police staff investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann was being reduced from 29 to 4.
Madeleine was three years old when she went missing from her family’s holiday apartment during a holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007.
Police have reportedly investigated more than 60 “persons of interest” however no arrests have been made.
Now, in a fresh Christmas appeal, British families who have loved ones who have disappeared without a trace are taking part in the Missing People ‘Home for Christmas’ campaign.
Amongst those families are Kate and Gerry Mc Cann, who are one of 11 families taking part in an open exhibition honouring their loved one’s memory.
The Mc Cann’s listed the followed traits as those they miss most about their daughter:
- Her smile
- Her laughter
- Her eyes
- Her dimples
- Her sense of humour
- Her smartness
- Her imitations of people and characters
- Her voice, her ‘chat’
- Her company
- That knowing look
- Her singing
- Styling her hair
- Chasing her round the garden
- Sharing her excitement in the run-up to Christmas
- Sharing anything
- Spoiling her on her birthday
- Shopping with her
- Going to a cafe with her
- Holding her, hugging her, kissing the top of her head
- Lying next to her
- Our complete family of five
- Everything
- We miss her
Kate and Gerry McCann also posed with a photo of how Madeleine would look now:
