Legendary Irish jockey Pat Eddery has died at the age of 63.
The sad news was confirmed by Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager at Prince Khalid Abdullah.
“It is extremely sad news,” he stated. “Everyone at Juddmonte is very shocked and saddened by it.”
Eddery had a hugely successful career which included being an 11-time champion flat jockey and also saw him claim four Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe wins.

Throughout his long and successful career, he won more than 4,500 races, with one of his most famous ones being on Dancing Brave in 1986.
He retired from racing in 2003.
