Very sad news this morning.
Irish comedian, Brendan Grace, has passed away following a short illness.
He was 68-years-old.
According to RTE, his family say he died peacefully and was very grateful for the support from fans all over the world since his illness was announced.
Brendan had suffered with poor health but continued to perform and had been due to tour Ireland this summer before being diagnosed with cancer.
Brendan Grace was born in Dublin, and began his career as a singer but later turned to comedy.
Alongside comedy, he was a successful actor, famously portraying Fr Fintan Stack in Father Ted.
Mrs Brown’s Boys actor, Brendan O’Carroll, took to Twitter this morning to share his sadness, calling Grace a ‘legend’.
“So sad at the passing of a great comedy legend, husband and father Brendan Grace. He opened doors for so many of us and leaves a legacy of love and laughter that will echo through this land and we will all mourn his passing. Rest peacefully Bottler you’ve earned it.”
