Gardaí have tonight launched an investigation after the body of a woman was found in a house in Louth.
Earlier today, a man died after driving the wrong way up the M1 near Ardee and the vehicle involved was registered to an address in Hackballscross.
On arriving at the property, the body of a woman was discovered and it is being reported tonight that she had suffered serious head wounds prior to her death.
Gardaí are now investigating whether there is a link between the two deaths and both scenes have been sealed off for forensic investigation.
According to RTÉ News, another car and a truck were involved in collision and three other people are being treated for non life-threatening injuries at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
