Inquest reveals Dolores O’Riordan died due to drowning from alcohol intoxication

Dolores O'Riordan died by drowning due to alcohol intoxication, an inquest in London revealed today.

The Cranberries singer was found dead in a hotel room in January in London, as she was staying there for a short amount of time to take part in recording sessions. According to RTÉ, the singer was found by police submerged in a bath of water of Room 2005 at London's Hilton Park Lane Hotel on January 15. The Coroner stated a verdict of accidental death at the inquest. He called it a "tragic accident." A toxicological report carried out on Dolores after her death found a blood alcohol level of 330mg per 100ml - just over four times the legal limit for driving. Apparently, there was also an indication she used prescription medication as they were found at the scene. According to BBC, PC Natalie Smart, who was at the scene, told the inquest: "I saw Mrs O'Riordan submerged in the bath with her nose and mouth fully under the water." After the Limerick singers death, millions of fans, friends and family members paid tribute to her online.
