We don’t think there is anyone in Ireland who is not a huge fan of Cmdr Hadfield, the retired Canadian astronaut who took some wonderful photos of Ireland while in space.
Hadfield was back in town for a book signing at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition in the RDS yesterday, and boy did he really draw a crowd.
Over 700 people queued to have the honour of meeting the absolute gentleman and getting him to sign their book. Not only was Hadfield happy to oblige, he also extended the book signing by two hours so that he could sign books and chat with people, according to the Irish Times.
Hadfield is currently on another promotional tour in Ireland (we think he just really likes it here) and is due to visit Derry and Belfast this week.
On top of the above, Hadfield has agreed to be a tourist ambassador for Ireland. He will make a couple of videos for Tourism Ireland as part of the post.
In case you missed it, here is his rendition of a Bowie classic on the Late Late Show.
