It’s going to be very warm today but it won’t last long

It’ll be warm enough for a t-shirt if you’re out and about, but bring a brolly as well just in case.

Ireland’s weather looks set to be as temperamental as ever in the coming days, with some of the warmest temperatures of the year coupled with the threat of thunder and even spot flooding in places. According to Met Éireann, Thursday will be very mild and humid with temperatures reaching highs of 17 degrees. With the humidity, however, will come widespread showery rain with bursts of thunder, particularly in the west, with eastern parts of the country set to enjoy periods of dry weather throughout the day. If thunder isn’t your thing, you might want to grab a thunder buddy as there will be more of it in the evening and at night, with spells of heavy rain leading to the threat of spot flooding in places. Friday won’t be much better and will get off to a very wet start in Leinster and Ulster, with the rain set to clear towards the north as the day progresses. There will be even more thunder as temperatures drop significantly on Friday night, plunging to as low as 2 degrees with frost in places. As if to sum up Ireland’s four seasons in a day approach to the weather, hailstones are a possibility on yet another mixed bag of a day on Saturday, with conditions set to turn cool and dry by Saturday night. Sunday, thankfully, is set to be dry, bright and “pleasantly mild” with sunny spells throughout the day, with temperatures reaching highs of 15 degrees.
