The video threatened the US and its allies.
Gardaí are said to be a reviewing a video that surfaced online on Wednesday of this week, which had allegedly been released by ISIS.
The clip threatened anyone who was against the ideals of the Islamic States and appears to include Ireland in a “coalition of devils”.
“Gather your allies. Plot against us and show us no respite,” the video, which was filmed with an English voiceover and done in the style of a Hollywood trailer, warned.
“Our ally is the greatest. He is Allah and all glory goes to him,” it continues.
“We’re counting your banners, which our prophet said would reach 80 in number and then the flames of war will finally burn you on the hills of death.”
While the authenticity of the clip is not yet verified, according to today’s The Irish Independent, Gardaí are keeping the video “under review”.
“An Garda Síochána will keep under review the ongoing issues in France and elsewhere and will ensure that Garda resources are deployed in a manner commensurate with the current security situation,” a Garda spokesperson is reported as saying.
“The level of threat will be kept under constant review… All appropriate measures will be taken in dealing with any threats.”
