Gardaí investigating death of nurse whose body lay in hospital room for almost two days

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the death of a nurse after her body lay undiscovered in a hospital room for almost two days.

According to the Irish Independent, the nurse who was believed to be in her early 30s was last seen on duty at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin on Sunday.

Her body was found on Tuesday in a room in the hospital which is used to provide accommodation for parents with a child who is a patient at the hospital.

Attempts were made to resuscitate the woman but unfortunately it was too late.

There is no suggestion of foul play however gardaí will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
