The FSAI is recalling these cakes over sharp plastic pieces

Customers are being urged to avoid eating certain cakes sold in Ireland over concerns of plastic contaminants. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued a recall of a batch of Wonkandy cakes, saying that there are plastics sticks attached to the cakes and that their sharpness poses a hazard. "The plastic sticks are affixed to some of the sweets and sharp parts may cause injury to consumers," read the statement on its website. The cakes in question are the Wonkandy Small New York Cakes in a 345g pack with a best before date of 30 November this year. It's warned that other confectionary products from Wonkandy, including its Cake Large New York; Cake Big Rosa; Cake Big Primavera; Cake Big Arco Iris; Cake Small Primavera; Cake Small Croissant; Cake Small Tutti Frutti Red and Cake Small Tutti Frutti Blue. The batch of cakes originated in Spain.
