Four Women Have Been Killed In Collision In Kildare Tonight

Four women in their 20s have been killed in a two-car collision in Kildare tonight.

It’s believed that the women were travelling in a car when it collided with a van near Athy shortly before 10pm.

According to the Irish Times, seven people were taken to hospital with severe injuries and other outlets are now reporting that there have been four fatalities arising from the incident.

The collision occurred at Birdstown, approximately three miles from junction 3 (M9) going towards Athy N78 and the road will remain closed until late on Wednesday to facilitate a forensic collision examination.
