It is reported that at least 40 people have lost their lives and 100 have been taken hostage in Paris this evening after shootings and explosions in the French capital.
Police confirm 100 people have been taken hostage at a rock concert at the Bataclan theatre in the 11th arrondissement.
The French President Francois Hollande has been evacuated from the Stade de France where he was watching a football match between the France and Germany, following explosions nearby.
The crowd moved onto the field of the stadium.

Meanwhile, a shooting took place at a restaurant close to Rue Bichat. According to the Irish Mirror, eyewitnesses have reported seeing bodies strewn across the road near the restaurant. Police and other emergency services are at the scene, which is close to where the Charlie Hebdo attack happened in January. An officer warned “the gunman is suspected to be still on the loose. People should leave the area.”
