Father found guilty of murdering the baby he adopted just two weeks earlier

A man murdered his 18-month-old baby just two weeks after adopting her.

Matthew Scully-Hicks inflicted catastrophic injuries on his daughter Elsie at his home in Cardiff four days before she died. Dr Stephen Leadbetter added that she died after suffering a "blunt head injury", which triggered a cardiac arrest and starved her organs of blood. A post-mortem revealed she had also suffered broken ribs, a fractured leg, and a fractured skull.
