Emma Hannigan’s ‘Letters To My Daughters’ reaches no.1 in book charts

Emma Hannigan's 'Letters To My Daughters' has reached no.1 in the Irish book charts.

The author's final novel outsold all others last week after Marian Keyes, Carmel Harington, and others rallied to get the book to the top of the bestsellers list. Hannigan shared an emotive Facebook post on Friday saying that doctors had told her that "all avenues have now been exhausted." The author has battled breast cancer many times since first being diagnosed in 2006. In her post, she wrote that was "heartbroken."

"All good things must come to an end. "The time that I knew was borrowed must be given back soon, so it seems. The conversation I never wanted to have has been said. "My medical team have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at this fight but all avenues have now been exhausted. "To say that I am heartbroken doesn’t begin to cover it."

Today, Dubray Books tweeted that 'Letters To My Daughters' had made it to the top of the bestsellers list. They said: https://twitter.com/DubrayBooks/status/965902876047544320 The store also announced that they will be donating all of their profits from the book to Breast Cancer Ireland which Hannigan is an ambassador for. The Book Centre, who have many stores around the country, has also announced that they will be doing the same. In her post, Hannigan said "farewell and thank you" and asked people to be "mind each other. Be kind to each other and hold those you love close by." The author has also asked people to donate to Breast Cancer Ireland.
