An €8.99 bottle of rosé available at Aldi has beaten off stiff competition to be named one of the best in the world. Just in time for summer, The Exquisite Collection Côtes De Provence 2016 scooped a silver medal at The International Wine Challenge, one of six medals taken home by the discount supermarket this year. A blend of 'strawberry, white fruit and subtle spice', the Côtes De Provence 2016 Rosé managed to come out on top of other brands more than three times the price. Aldi's Lot 25 Prosecco and limited edition Organic Prosecco also got the nod of approval from the connoisseurs. Time to start a summer rosé cellar? Move fast to avoid the stampede.
