Dublin woman stabbed in the neck on her way home yesterday evening

A 36-year-old woman was stabbed yesterday evening in a suspected mugging.

The woman was walking in Drumcondra around 6.15pm when she was stopped by another woman who demanded the victim hand over her handbag and mobile phone.

The victim received a stab wound to the neck during the altercation.

Emergency services were called and the victim was brought to the nearby Mater Hospital.

According to The Independent, the incident occurred outside home of Dublin Archbishop Diarmuid Martin.

The injuries are not life threatening.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
