DSPCA need forever homes for 4 puppies abandoned just before Christmas

Could you be the forever home these puppies need?

Like many animal adoption and rehoming centres, the DSPCA stopped their services for adopting pets coming up to Christmas in a hope to try and combat people giving animals as gifts. However, the folks who work at the centre were still extremley busy talking in animals which had been abandoned in the weeks leading up to the festive season. Re-opening their adoption services, the DSPCA today shared a photo of four puppies who are now looking for their forever home after being left in a cardboard box just before Christmas.

"Found abandoned in a cardboard box just one week before Christmas. These 4 beautiful Lurcher Cross puppies are now in our Rehoming centre ready to find their forever homes. Please visit the shelter if you wish to give these guys a home," explained the DSPCA.

Before Christmas, Dogs Trust revealed that searches for a puppy soar by 44 percent in December while searches for 'get a dog' increase by 27 percent. The charity's chief executive Owen Sharp said in a statement:

"Dog ownership is wonderful, and we aren't saying 'don't get a dog'. We're just asking that people are sure they are ready for the long-term commitment that comes with it."
