Dozens Trapped 220 Feet In The Air For Four Hours On Iconic SeaWorld Ride

You may never get on a ride ever again.

Most of us profess a fear of amusement rides, especially if that ride happens to elevate about 320 feet into the air. Most of the time we trust that the rides are safe but this incident may make us fearful of ever getting on any of these rides ever again.

According to the Daily Mail, 48 people were stranded on the SeaWorld Skytower ride which became suspended at 220 feet yesterday afternoon.

The attraction stopped working at about 3.30pm at the San Diego park. Initially, SeaWorld thought this was due to a power failure but afterwards claimed it was a mechanical malfunction.

A teenage boy was rushed to hospital after the incident took place while others were treated at the scene for anxiety.

A statement from SeaWorld read: “With guest safety as our top priority, park engineers spent four hours trouble-shooting the problem before restoring power to the Skytower and safely returning the 46 guests to the ride loading area.”

“The guests were never in danger and park officials were in constant communication with them while the power failure was being addressed.”

Yes, thanks but no thanks. No more amusement rides for us thanks!
