Donald Trump has surpassed Hillary Clinton in popularity polls

In the most devastating news many are likely to hear this week, Donald Trump has surpassed Hillary Clinton by a single percentage point lead in a poll by ABC.

This is the first time Trump has bested Clinton since May.

According to The Independent UK, although the result remains within ABC’s margin of error, the broadcaster noted that the change of place was a noteworthy moment.

With just a week until election day, the candidates are now virtually neck-and-neck. Earlier this week, Clinton’s lead decreased to a mere fraction of a percentage.

The surge in support for Trump perhaps correlates to the reopening of an FBI investigation into Clinton.

The internal investigation examines the possible mishandling of classified information by Hillary Clinton and top aides, officials told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The controversy began in March 2015 when it became known that during her time as United States Secretary of State, Clinton had used her family’s private email server for official communications.

Those communications include thousands of classified emails.

Previous hearings have been held by the United States House Select Committee on Benghazi. Some experts, officials, and members of Congress have contended that her use of private messaging system software and a private server violated State Department protocols and procedures, as well as federal laws and regulations governing recordkeeping.

Continuous also controversies surround Trump who was most recently, accused of sexually harassing a former Miss Universe candidate on stage in front of a large crowd.

At this stage, ABC claims the election is too close to call.
