Dolores O’Riordan Has Been Sentenced After Her 2014 Air Rage Incident

Dolores O’Riordan, lead singer of The Cranberries, has been told she must contribute €6,000 to the court poor box following her court appearance in Ennis today.

RTÉ report that she was in court over an air rage incident on board a flight from New York in 2014, where she head-butted and spat at a Garda who was attempting to arrest her, after she had previously spat at two police officers who had tried to escort her off the plane.

Judge Patrick Durkan said that her sincere written apologises and diagnosis of bipolar disorder from a psychiatrist meant it would be unfair to criminalise her with a conviction.

Her donation to the poor box will go towards the rehabilitation of other prisoners.
